Introduction to Plant Tissue Culture is a skill-oriented course designed to train the students practical aspects of plant in vitro culture. The course develops hands-on skills in aseptic handling, culture media preparation, explant selection, plant regeneration techniques. Learners are guided through the step-by-step execution of tissue culture workflows, including laboratory organization, sterilization procedures, and basic troubleshooting of in vitro cultures.
The course intentionally avoids advanced molecular and genetic engineering topics to maintain a clear, application-focused scope. By the end of the course, learners will be able to plan, perform, and manage basic plant tissue culture operations, making them prepared for work in academic laboratories, commercial micropropagation facilities, and entry-level roles in plant biotechnology.
